PROJECT DETAILS:

A “How to” video, where the focus is on showing how to enjoy San Francisco. As someone who has lived in San Francisco for more than 2 years now, I always wanted to show different sides of San Francisco.

So I came up with this project, I tried to challenge my videography and editing skills by shooting various shots of landmarks and places in San Francisco.

Some of the shots of the short film that were taken by a Canon EOS 60D camera

I tried to capture as much as I could and show the city while maintaining the “film” aesthetic. All the editing was later done using Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve

The design consideration that I had to make the scenes look more like a “film” was to add film grain throughout the entire scene, more “yellowish” color grading, a more horizontal aspect ratio (2.35 : 1), and video effects such as Bloom and Diffusion. All of these combine the yellow subtitle that is the cherry on top of the film aesthetic that I was looking for.
